As you are aware one of the key features of AutoCAD software is its speed and accuracy . You can achieve speed in various ways . Out of the total time taken to create a drawing, significant amount of time will be taken to enter COMMANDS . Even if we have a number of methods to enter commands such as using Ribbon , tool bars ( in the classic interface of 2014 and lower versions ) and key board etc. , Key board entry is the proffered at times for faster command input . This is because of the following reasons .
1. Enter a command alias or abbreviation is always faster .
2. Locating a command on the ribbon may take some time consuming especially if you are a beginner or you happen to use a different version of Autocad.
(for example various options related with UCS is grouped under View tab in AutoCAD 2013 while the same options are seen in Visualise tab in AutoCAD 2015)
As a normal user of AutoCAD we generally memorise the most frequently used short cuts . You can get idea about the commonly used short cuts from the following chart .
